BUG ELEKTRIK
Tremolo, Ring Modulator and Dirt in one pedal. Designing this circuit took months of late nights, tons of coffee and a busted breadboard in the process. The goal was to combine both tremolo and ring modulation in a single pedal with no limiting of their features and minimum carrier signal noise(which is a common issue with ring mods). So here it is: fully analog, smooth or hard chopping tremolo and synthy, bit crushing ring mod madness. Apart from the usual Depth and Rate controls the Bug has two modulation waveforms(triangle and square), a Gain knob (because ring modulation sounds even nastier with some dirt) and a Volume knob to find the perfect balance between your bypassed and modulated sound. Also you can turn the modulation off and use it as a preamp-overdrive. To make things more random and fun, there are two envelope modes to choose from that speed up the modulation Rate based on your playing dynamics. Finally, a momentary switch has been added that instantly slows down the Rate for as long as it’s pressed. Great for random, glitching effects with either Tremolo or Ring Mod. Inside you’ll find various trimpots for customising things such as envelope sensitivity and slow down intensity.
Customer feedback: “Great sounding tremolo pedal and nasty ring mod in one. Didn’t know I needed a ring mod on my board until I heard this one!” “Got myself a bug Elektrik recently and absolutely adore it!” “Thanxs to Side Effects for taking the time to show me the BUG ELEKTRIK pedal. It is one of the best tremolos I have heard, and also does a good job as a boost. Then you enter insanity when you engage the ring modulator. Try one, you won’t be sorry!!!!”um
